Glove sizing can be a little more complicated than you might expect, so to help you measure your glove size, here’s a simple process to follow.
When determining your glove size, you need to find a specific number. Here’s how to find glove size numbers, inches.
.Measure the arm circumference
Wrap a strip of cloth around the widest part of your hand. When measuring glove size, you should always use your dominant hand (right hand if you are right-handed and left hand if you are left-handed). The tape measure should wrap around the top of your hand at the widest point of your palm. Record your hand size in inches at this point.
.Measure the length
After the distance measurement, it is time to measure the length. Open your hands and fingers and place the meter on the tip of your middle finger. Then pull the tape measure to the end of your hand and hold it firmly where it starts at your wrist. Now record the length of your hand at this point in inches.
.Round the larger number up
Now you have two digits in inches. It’s time to pick the bigger number and round up. For example, your hand circumference may be 5 1/2 inches and your hand length may be 6 ¾ inches. In this case, you need to round the number ¾ 6 to 7. That means your glove size is 7.
.Convert if needed
Many manufacturers label gloves with small, medium, large, and extra large sizes instead of numbers. If this is for the gloves you need to buy, you will need to convert your measurements using the glove size chart.
